Dear Friend –
It’s been a while since I wrote to you. Finished off a strenuous week at work and have been enjoying some great down time at home this long labor day weekend. Watched a couple of movies, got caught up on some small projects, etc.
God is faithful. He has provided for Dad and Mom. Dad is now in a rehabilitation facility in his hometown. So concerns about Mom having to drive a long distance have been alleviated. I had opportunity to visit him on Sunday. He looks good all things considered. Still a long road but as we like to say in the family “one day at a time”.
Perhaps it is because of Dad’s recent hospitalization and now his return to a rehab facility that the following video I came across put out by Cleveland Clinic made me tear up. It is extremely well done. It’s a good reminder that everyone has something going on in their life that isn’t necessarily clearly seen or known when you look at them. Perhaps next time I am in a healthcare facility or anywhere for that matter, I will be reminded to be a bit kinder, a bit more patient and alot more empathetic. After all, a smile and kind word does not cost me a thing. A lesson that I find myself needing to learn again and again.
Grace and peace.
