Hello Friend –
I am starting on a journey that I am really excited about yet I feel such trepidation. I have heard many times that the first step is always the hardest. It is indeed a true statement. Where am I going you ask? I am heading on a trip into the vast and ever expanding universe of blogging. Yes, I know, I am quite late to the party but I believe there is enough room and time left to share, learn and have fun. I have much that I want to write and share about. So, really, this journey is for me but I am hopeful I will gather some companions on “the way” and that our lives will be the richer for the encounter. Bear with me, Friend, as I know I will face unexpected paths, climb some steep hills, make wrong turns requiring course adjustments and need to stop and rest.
I am sure you asking why “Gray on the Way”? Well, as I was trying to think about what I would name this journey, I wanted to incorporate my signature hair color, my faith, the process of growth and change.
My tendency is to operate in “black and white” and I am not really comfortable in the “grays” of life. Never have been. The “grays” exist though and cause me to seek, strive, change, question, stretch, grow and learn. Gray is “of a color intermediate between black and white”. I love color and when I find color on this journey, I hope you are as delighted as I in the finding of it.
“The way” implies many things. “The way” points to a person. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life”. (John 14:6). Followers of Jesus Christ were called “the way” before being called Christians. (Acts 9:2). “The way” implies moral precepts and/or ethical values. It is 1. a method, style or manner of doing something; 2. a road, track, path or street for traveling along; 3. at or to a considerable distant or extent – far.
I am of “the way” and on “the way”. I have not yet reached my destination, but I am not where I was. Now is time to enjoy the journey.
Grace and peace.
